DRCC ACHIEVES QUALITY RECOGNITION

We are delighted to announce that Durham Rural Community Council has been awarded the highest Level 3 Accreditation under the ACRE Good Practice Quality Standard, which is endorsed by the Charity Commission.
Having previously secured Levels 1 and 2, DRCC’s staff and trustees have been working hard over the past year to ensure that DRCC strives to meet the highest standards in all aspects of its work. Our performance was independently assessed by an accredited External Peer Review, and based upon a combination of desk-top research, interviews with funders, partners and customers, and two days of on-site assessment.
This latest award comes hard on the heels of our successful Investors in People reassessment in May 2010, when we were praised for our efforts in a number of areas including partnership working, staff supervision, training, development, and business planning.
Jenny Flynn, Chair of DRCC's Board of Trustees was delighted to announce DRCC’s Level 3 Accreditation at our recent 75th Anniversary Celebration held at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland. She said 'I'm thrilled that DRCC has achieved this award. It is a fitting testament to the continuing dedication and hard work shown by our Staff and Trustees, and a tremendous accolade in DRCC’s 75th year of operation.’

The ACRE Network Performance Improvement Programme is based on the requirement for Rural Community Councils to implement the ACRE Good Practice Quality Standard (the ACRE Standard). As a result, the Rural Community Action Network (RCAN) is implementing an exemplar programme for performance improvement which has the capability of delivering national, network-wide benchmarking on quality.
All Rural Community Councils (RCCs) have readily embraced the programme’s requirement to implement Charity Commission endorsed Quality Standards covering nine areas of organisational performance:
• Business Planning
• User-Centred Service
• Trustees and the Board
• Managing Activities
• Financial Management
• Monitoring and Evaluation
• Managing and Supporting Staff
• Training and Skills Development
• Networks and Partnerships
