LESLEY MILLGATE - COMMUNITIES MANAGER

Lesley has worked closely with rural communities across the North-East over the past 11 years.  At the Rural Development Commission she was responsible for managing delivery of West Durham Rural Challenge and the Durham Rural Development Programme.  More recently, Lesley delivered the Countryside Agency's Vital Villages programme in County Durham, and the Local Heritage Initiative, both community focused grant schemes. Lesley joined Durham Rural Community Council in 2006, to work on the Rural Social & Community Programme.  She has provided practical advice and support to Parishes & Town Councils preparing Community Plans, and was also instrumental in developing and delivering DRCC's Quality Parish Bursary scheme. Lesley is now responsible for managing DRCC's outreach team supporting rural communities across the county.
