SUE GRAHAM - DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Sue Graham began work with DRCC in May 2009 as Compact and Networks Officer; she is currently working on a refreshed County Durham Compact and developing Third Sector Communities of Interest linked to the Thematic Partnership Boards of the County Durham Strategic Partnership.
Sue joined DRCC from Thirsk Community Care Association (TCCA) where she was Chief Officer. A major piece of work she undertook while at (TCCA) was to successfully bid to the Gold Star Exemplar Volunteer Programme of the Cabinet Office http://www.goldstar.org.uk/index.html The programme involved disseminating good practice, Quality Standards and training around volunteering and supporting volunteers to VCS organisations in the District and beyond.
Prior to her work at Thirsk, Sue was employed as a Services Manager by Rethink, a national mental health charity in its regional offices in County Durham. Here a major part of her role was to recruit, train and support volunteers. Sue’s earlier post as an Outreach Manager with Richmondshire CVS developed her broad knowledge and understanding of the role and importance of volunteering, the work that is done, and the requirements for sufficient and appropriate good practice and support for the recruitment, retention and support of volunteers.
