HELEN BROWN - RURAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Helen joined DRCC in October 2010 and now works for us full-time, splitting her duties between the North Pennine Dales Community Buildings project (which is funded by the North Pennine Dales LEADER programme), and general support for community buildings elsewhere in the county.

Helen’s previous role was Projects and Marketing Officer for Teesdale Village Halls Consortium. This involved assisting the management committees of rural community buildings in Teesdale, County Durham with advice and support on issues such as funding, training, legislation, marketing, and establishing partnership opportunities with public, private and voluntary sector organisations. During this time Helen completed a Chartered Institute of Marketing Professional Diploma in Marketing.

Prior to this post Helen completed a BA (Hons) Tourism Management degree, and worked for Barclays Bank as a cashier and machine operative covering Darlington and the Dales.
