CORPORATE INFORMATION
Durham Rural Community Council Limited (DRCC) is a registered charity (no: 229119), and a company limited by guarantee (no: 309329). We operate across the whole of County Durham.
DRCC continues to assist and support local groups and communities to identify their needs, helping to find the resources, and providing the support and encouragement that local people need to make things happen for themselves.
The work of DRCC is underpinned by the principles of solid community engagement, and this is reflected in the operation of the organisation itself. DRCC remains accountable to the community through a Council of up to 100 members, comprising individuals and organisations drawn from across the County. The elected Executive Committee (Board of Trustees) drawn from the Council. is responsible for ensuring that the organisation meets its objectives, is stable, financially sound, and well managed.
DRCC's Annual General Meeting for members is usually held in October. We also hold themed meetings during the year (open to non-members) that promote DRCC's work and issues of local interest. We publish 'Community News' twice yearly, and distribute it widely across County Durham and beyond.
