We are a registered charity established in 1935 to support the rural communities of County Durham. Our dedicated team of staff provide advice and support to community groups, voluntary organisations, and Town & Parish Councils across the county.

FREE is a national programme, aimed primarily at off-grid communities, to provide advice about rural energy including information about fuel choices, energy efficient technologies and carbon reduction measures. Click here for more details.
Job Opportunities with DRCC. We are currently recruiting for two part-time administrators to support our East Durham LEADER programme, and our new Oil Buying Scheme. The closing date for applications is 16 February 2012. Click here for more details.
Legal advice clinics. We recently held a series of events to provide support to committees of community buildings on leases, insurances and governing documents e.g. constitutions. The sessions were well attended, and we are now following up individual requests for assistance.
